Hi all, i own the 77's 88's when numbers get serious, and 88 combo cd set, they both rock and roll. Does the band have any other alblums that rock like live ones because from there site it seems like they have really mellowed out a ton and its a shame as they could really rock. Thanks Shannon a Jesus Freak!!!!

Shannon,

You really must get your hands on Tom Tom Blues! That's some serious kick-ass rock'n'roll. That and Drowning with Land in Sight.

They are actual albums not live ones. The band tends to make some mellower music and then go back to rock and then back to mellower and then back to rock. Its a continual process, always moving around a bit, I think.

define "christianity wise" and what "christianity wise" lyrics should be.

From Drowing With Land In Sight Reply to this Post Post Reply with Quote Edit/Delete Posts Report Post to a Moderator       Go to the top of this page

Dave's Blues
from the album "Drowning With Land In Sight"

(Mike Roe/David Leonhardt)

I've got a feelin'
I'll be headin' down for good
Got that feelin'
I'm never gonna do the things I should
I'm caught in this world
Heaven sent but hell possessed
Feeling grey since my black went white
Yes means no and no means yes

I do believe
I finally need a Saviour at last
I never saw the need before, but now
That time has passed
No ifs ands or buts
This ol' world has kicked my ass

I alternate
Between fantasy
And the cold hard truth
I oscillate
Between the cool and the uncouth
But I resonate
To the piercing eyes of God
I saw in my youth

Where did He go?
What is He thinking about me now?
Am I a delight to Him or
Little more than a holy cow?
Moo moo baby
Feel I been milked down
Brown how now

From safe As Milk Reply to this Post Post Reply with Quote Edit/Delete Posts Report Post to a Moderator       Go to the top of this page

Hold Dearly To Me
from the album "Safe As Milk"

(Michael Roe)

what do you do when you're in total frustration?
what do you do when you're in total despair?
what can you say when you dial that number and the only
person you want to talk to is never really, really quite there?

this person cannot bring me happiness
this person cannot bring me joy
Gracious God lift me higher, let me see your beautiful face
i gotta know who my true friends are and
where's my home sweet home

many nights i've wandered alone down this street of pain
many days i've stumbled out into the darkness of daylight
many years i've wandered, wondering just where i'll end up
in a festering heap of flames or a shivering cold cold night

good God almighty scoop me up and set me free
let me walk in Your forgiveness make a man out of me
Lord i've been jumping at shadows, like a snake i've been eating my tail
let me trip, let me stumble but please don't let me fail

i'm a fly by night, i'm a dog by day
i've got a room full of beautiful memories
growing old and in the way
i got a heart that's been broken over and over again
some by lovers, some by brothers, but most of all by my own dirty little hands

let me sit at your holy feet, let me count the hard cost
of what is right and what is wrong, of who is kind and who can only be the boss
let me lie awake and seek the truth from thy holy face
out of the holy mouth thundering forth out of the holy place

let me walk and stand and talk with the mind of one given over
only to the things that i know you hold dear
let me soften my heart, let me harden my footsteps
as i press toward the mark of your safe place without any fear

hold dearly to me
hold dearly to me
hide me, drape me, closely and safely

From Say Your Prayers Reply to this Post Post Reply with Quote Edit/Delete Posts Report Post to a Moderator       Go to the top of this page

Lutheran Hymn
from the album "Say Your Prayers"

(Michael Roe)

I sing praises in the morning
I sing praises in the day
I sing praises every evening
I sing praises always

You are there at every dawning
And inside the eventide
Every afternoon and morning
You are there
You are walking by my side

I sing praise when I don’t want to
I sing praise when I can’t feel
I sing praises ‘cuz I ought to
I sing praises ‘cuz You’re real

I will thank You for the blessings
I will bless You for the curse
I’ll rejoice when I hear the bad news
‘Cuz the bad news could always be much worse

I sing praises in the morning
I sing praises in the day
I sing praises every evening
I sing praises always

From The Boat Ashore Reply to this Post Post Reply with Quote Edit/Delete Posts Report Post to a Moderator       Go to the top of this page

Love Like Gold
from the album "The Boat Ashore"

(Michael Roe/Bruce Spencer)

Headin' down that highway again
I've been that road before
Never wanted that way to be my way again
I've had the best, but this time less is more

Never should've made you my reason to live
'Cause it killed me baby
When you walked out that door
I'm loosing interest in your shady loan of love
My only saving grace is the good Lord above

I really want to know what it feels like to have and hold
A precious love
Love like gold
Said I really wanna know what it feels like
The real thing
Love like gold

I thought our love was higher than high
'Till we crashed and burned
Burned so hot
Guess we didn't have the wings that it takes to fly high
In the matters of the heart
We fell hard

Will our broken wings ever come to mend?
Can a broken heart learn to love again?

I really want to know what it feels like to have and hold
A precious love
Love like gold
Said I really wanna know what it feels like
The real thing
Love like gold

Don't want the kind of gold to keep to myself
I want the kind that I can give to someone else, well

I really want to know what it feels like to have and hold
A precious love
Love like gold
Said I really wanna know what it feels like
The real thing
Love like gold

From Pray Naked Reply to this Post Post Reply with Quote Edit/Delete Posts Report Post to a Moderator       Go to the top of this page

Kites Without Strings
from the album "Pray Naked"

(Mike Roe/David Leonhardt)

i was high
like a kite you pulled me through
when you ran
i followed you

clipped at the wings
you held all my strings
i was taught
but never learned a thing

is it any wonder
i came crashing down
when i did i hit solid ground
was it all a blunder
or were all those years i spent
head in clouds heaven sent

gotta learn to walk
before you run
you flew before you
learned either one

now you're gone, you're gone
now you're gone, you're gone

tangled in you
i aimed for the wild blue
when i hit the ground
what a bitter earth i found

kites without strings
fly on to bigger things
but you brought me down
you were determined,
i was bound

you can't fly away
from who you are
you tried and you
drifted way too far

now you're gone, you're gone
now you're gone, you're gone

flying on the ground
is always wrong
i let it go but you kept holding on

now you're gone, you're gone
now you're gone, you're gone
now you're gone, you're gone
now you're gone, you're gone

And i believe if your going to claim to be a christian you need to write lyrics to that glorify the saviour otherwise might aswell talk about sex drugs and theft only like most worldly bands do. you cant be inbetween you gotta be a jesus freak or a world lover which in my case im a jesus freak.
