I am considering buying a used CCM CD on ebay. The label is M8. Has anyone here ever purchased or at least heard an M8 disc? What is the quality like? The disc is out of print. I can buy the tunes at the band's website, and actually I have done so...but I like to have the actual CD in my hands, and this CD is not available. Considering only the quality, and not your feelings regarding M8 (I have heard a lot of negative about them), do (did) they put out a quality product?

it depends which cd you are talking about....
they did a pretty good job with the alarma chronicles bookset...
got sloppy towards the end......

The Alarma Chronicles bookset was put together by my brother, myself and Brian Heydn, M8 slapped their logo all over it. But we gathered all the text, pictures and created the masters and Brian did the layout.
Generally speaking M8 was crap. On several occassions we would create the masters and Brian would do the layout and send them everything figuring then maybe stuff wouldn't get screwed up... but they would still find some way to screw it up. The last straw being the 2 second gaps between songs that were supposed to be connected on the M8'ed "Little Red Riding Hood."
If there is no other way to get something, get the M8 version, if there is another way... I would opt for the other way.

Doc, is that an old self portrait or what? Did Mike Knott have anything to do with that? It's very cool!

Reminds me of a drawing I just posted on facebook yesterday. I've always wanted to draw the portrait from Boat Ashore, but didn't feel like it was my place to do it.

M8 also has a huge history of ripping people off. One of the main reasons my brother and I hated to work with them from the start.
Yeah I would post on the Choir board...
