I sent Doc an e-mail, with one possible "relocation" offer, in an attempt to preserve all the hard work that we have invested in creating this wonderland of, well, of...hmmm, I'm at a loss for words.

BC, they've covered Zep, the Stones, the Yardbirds, and been inflluenced by other cool bands as well. Oh yeah--they also covered Barry McGuire. It isn't outside the realm of possibility IMO that Mike and the band live could sneak in GS hither and yon.

yeah, I am aware of that. Don't forget Chuck Berry and Elvis (happy chrimbo) and Velvet Underground. The issue that I have with covers is that they are always subject to comparison. I feel that they are generally more acceptable as a live recording romp through versus on a studio recording.

Although it could be cool...I'd rather they not go there. Let them continue to make their own brand of sonic goodness!

perv. I just saw it at the show Monday night. |
LOL. I didn't know what I was getting, but I replied to Mama Orb's note, telling me to send $5 for an autographed copy. She said it was a "darling little picture".
Doc sent me 2 autographed copies!

Ok...regarding the EoF recording, my copy is a "Fools of the World" release, and it has the date as '96. The inside cover credits a few of the songs as being written in '92. Obviously, it was a prophetic recording of songs yet to be written.

Thread: Denomination Blues |

As stated, in the "Different Kind of Light" thread that Ron started, I have been listening to the PPOTA disc for the past couple of days. Denomination Blues has always been one of my favorites, but today, for some reason, I heard the guitar solo, that begins around 3:10 into the song, with fresh ears. Still stands up, after all these years!
Thanks, Doc!

Ron,
It's funny that you posted this. I had similar thoughts, yesterday, but instead of posting it, I popped the 77's playlist into rotation, beginning with this song.
This song will always be "special" to me, since it was the very first 77s song I ever heard. I had bought PPOTA on the recommendation of a church camp buddy. Just about wore out the LP.
I have always appreciated the lyrics in this song, too.

Thanks to those of you that have posted videos from this tour on Youtube. I was trying to get a show booked in Springfield, but logistics just didn't work this time.
