  77s MP3s

This may be old news but it's new to me. I just noticed more mp3s for download on the media section of the 77s site. I didn't know they were there and I thought there may be others missing out so there ya go. Cool The 77s

Warmup (mp3)
This sounds like a typical way the 77s warm up for rehearsal. Usually the rhythm section sets the pace, and when the musicians are top shelf, it inevitably settles into some kind of jazz/funk groove (can anyone imagine a bass player and drummer warming up with something that sounds like, say, John Lee Hooker?) Mike tries his best to keep up.....this piece was done during rehearsals for the "tom tom blues" tour in the fall of 1996.

Pray Naked rehearsal (mp3)
A spirited run-thru of another tune worked up for the "tom tom" tour.

ROEFL (mp3)
This started out as a valiant attempt of the part of longtime band associate Don Bown to interview Mike Roe for Don's long-standing interview series with various members of the 77's, both past and present. Foolishly, Don started the interview (at Mike's request) during a midnight laundry binge. These guys got about as far as "testing testing one two one two" before they were three sheets to the wind on little more than late night exhaustion. Fortunately, Don and 'ol pal DJ Joe Z. Zeffaro fashioned this abortive fiasco into a hip-hop classic for your listening enjoyment.

How Do You Dig It Now (mp3)
A rehearsal version of a tune we never finished for our 1999 release "ep".
