  Chattanooga show 7/21/07

I didn't know anything about this show until I saw the great article in our local newspaper on Friday. Needless to say I was pumped! The show was at a church about 10min.from my home.I saw them in a club downtown in 2003 on the "nazarene crying towel" tour-an accousitic show that was great, but when I read that this show was going to be electric, and saw the set list from th NJ show I was ready!!!The setlist was the same I think, except for "Rocky mountain mines" was done instead of "Burn it up", and the title of the new SE song is "It all depends"-which was so good I bought the new eddies album. I also got the create your own set list CD deal-complete with picture. The guys were really nice, laid back, and patient-except when Terry got put out with Mike not coming over for a picture, and mentioned the story from the bible about the talking "jackass"-all in jest. Anyway, the show was great-the sound was really good. I would have loved to hear Derri sing a little more lead, and play some electric guitar, instead of just bass-but I have to admit Mike was really great on lead-esp. on "Eleanor its raining", and the stunning "No room for us"-which was the showstopper for me-the harmonies were stellar!Another highlight was the new "That's where Jesus is" which has some of the greatest lyrics penned by TT ever! Thanks again guys for a very special night! My 13yr.old daughter went with me and loved it too.All in all a great night. Don't miss them if they come anywhere near you!P.S.It's no surprise to me they're doing four songs fom "Little Red Riding Hood"=by far their best!

Thumb Up!

Cool!!!!! I am so looking forward to the show here in Dallas on Thursday, July 26. We saw the boys on the "Nazarene Acoustic" tour and on thetour last year in support of "Lost Cabin" which was electric. I enjoy the acoustic treatment but there is something special Doctor Love starts ripping on the Strat. Just some beautiful playing.......Thanks for the review!

You lucky dog! This shipment of the new SE CD must have just come in! They didn't have it at the NJ show and judging by the date it is being shipped (tomorrow, 7/23), looks like it probably just became available on the road. I just went and ordered it. "It All Depends" sounds like a great tune -- it also seems to contain more of Terry Taylor's great paradoxical turns of phrase. Can't wait...

Thanks for the report on the Chattanooga show - you folks in Dallas and other parts are in for a real treat to say the least!

Terry said that it was only the second show that it was available at. And I can say after two listens it is very good-esp. lyrically.Maybe a little softer and melodic musically than they're others, but Terry pushes the bounds of CCM lyrics more than ever(I know-The Dogs are not CCM)."My Cardbook box" esp. so-a GREAT song.

Doghead 777: This is one thing I tried to do through another person (get a mention in local papers) and I'm not sure if it actually happened (didn't see the result). The next time our church hosts a concert (hoping we do it again), I'm going to make sure we get this in the local paper and you mentioning that you saw it in a local paper (but didn't know about it from anywhere else) confirms to me that this would be a good idea.

Just curious: Was there a good turn-out at this show?

Doing a little market research... Roll Eyes

Thanks! Unfortunately, this is the first Swirling Eddies CD I will have ever heard, so I have nothing to compare it to. I'm going to start in reverse chronological order after receiving this one though (if I can still find them!) I should have burned these to CD's when the Lost Dogs were in town! (you can buy OOP DA, Swirling Eddies, 77's material at the shows - they were allowing that to be done at the NJ show)

The show was fairly well attended-about 100, but most were probably from that church.Apparantely they had most of the back catalogue of all of the individual members' stuff for making you're own CD-DA,The Choir,77's,Eddies,etc.-I could have spent a fortune, but didn't. I mainly got the new SE cause I loved the song they played, and it was so hot off the presses-"Steaming" as TT said.

Smile )I just want to thank everyone for all the informative reviews on the Lost Dogs shows and all the other music the dogs do with their other bands. I've already bought How the Mighty Have Fallen by the Choir because of the things said about Mercy Will Prevail, now I am wanting the new Swirling Eddies CD you are talking about, and am also checking out the 77's. Thanks and God bless you all.

Hey vlricha, that entire album is fantastic. No filler! Hope you enjoy it, as it's been a blessing to me the last few months.

The chattanooga show was good. The church is probably better for an acoustic show but I'm glad I saw electric.

I have wanted to see the Dogs for years and finally got to. That was great. I also had them sign the cover of my original Scenic Routes CD. Now that is cool!

Thanks for the positive review of the Chattanooga show. You wouldn't believe how hard we worked on getting it right (though I'm sure there were some things we could have done better). The guys were great to work with, and they seemed pleased with everything. I thought the sound was great (if I do say so myself!)

Thanks to all of you who came out. If any of you have photos you would be willing to share, I would love to see them.

I thought it was good. One thing that was great was being able to bring my wife. She knows nothing about the Dogs and when they came out she looked at them, leaned over and said "What have you brought me to?". I thought I would die laughing right there!

After the show she insisted on getting the new CD. Another Dog in the family.........
